One Last Secret
Breed: Thoroughbred
Sex: Filly
Date Foaled: June 23, 2002 by Secret Hello out of Bold Girl
Jockey Club registration #: 02 36690
Description: 4 yr old med. bay filly, appr 16 hh w/ irregular white star with thin strip. Currently at track weight, she will fill out and still has some growing to do.
"Secret" is a new arrival here, arriving January 27 from the Middleburg Training Center. She had 8-starts and no wins at the track, and her owner did not see the need to continue to push her in something she really didn't seem to care much for. Secret is sound and has no vices and has started ground school, learning VERY quickly. She should be suitable for a variety of disciplines.
Secret is turned out with geldings and gets along fine with the boys. She is currently barefoot and seems comfortable, with nice feet.
Update 3-6-2006: Secret is progressing at leaps and bounds (not literally!). She is under saddle, standing quietly to be mounted and responding to a light touch to move forward, backwards or to the side. She is also conquering obstacles to help build her young confidence.

For Adoption - Upon The Roof, aka "Topper".
Breed: Thoroughbred (off track)
Sex: Gelding
Age: 5
Size: 16.2 hh
Color: Bay
Markings: None
“Topper" is a WONDERFUL horse - smart, handsome and full of personality. Rescued by The Exceller Fund from auction where he ended up due to a minor bowed tendon (RF), Topper is currently starting work under saddle and doing great! Recently Topper competed in his first-ever horseshow, where he won 5 ribbons!
Vetted Aug 23, 2006, Topper has great potential as a low/intermediate level dressage horse, hunters to 2‘6“,
pleasure or trails.
Update Oct 2006: Topper is doing wonderful! Paul Linn reports that Topper is doing great in his under-saddle work. He has conquered all the obstacles in their horsey playground and even has started going on trail rides! (complete with escort dogs crashing through the woods and "appearing" out of nowhere.) Paul says he has a great temperment; his Go equals his Whoa and he is not spooky at all. Paul recounts how one windy night he was hand-grazing Topper when all of a sudden a large branch broke off from a nearby tree and came crashing down through the tree to the ground. Topper raised his head and stopped chewing, said "Hmmph" and went back to grazing.
Topper is utd on all shots and worming and just had his teeth floated. He has no vices and is great for the farrier, vet, clipping etc. He leads well, with no pulling or lagging. Paul has also done trailer-loading training with him and reports Topper will load himself (with Paul standing outside the trailer) and stand quietly.
Under saddle, Topper will stand untied for saddling. He stands still for mounting from the ground, or will follow you to the mounting block and stand quietly to be mounted. Paul is working on softness and bending at the walk and trot at this point.
Topper is proudly owned by The Exceller Fund (www.excellerfund.org) and is available for immediate adoption. Interested parties should contact Paul or Kelly Linn for adoption information.
